Working in Partnership with you
We recognise our parents as their child's primary educators and will work in partnership with you, to support your child's learning.
Home learning - Our setting has Activity bags and Story sacks for you to borrow. They include everything you need, to play with your child and continue their learning at home.
WhatsApp Classroom groups - Each of our classrooms has a parent WhatsApp group we use to keep in touch and update you on any important information.
Email updates - occasionally, you will receive emails from Allsorts with information updates, dates for your diary, information from the library, our council or the local Children's Centre.
Facebook - Please like our Facebook page to follow us. We use our Facebook page to remind our parents of important dates and to share urgent information such as snow closures with you.
Parents in our setting
Join us for a session - Parents are always welcome to join us for a session to play with the children and join in with our activities. Please let us know if you have a talent or skill you would like to share with our children, or if you would like to help us celebrate a festival of your culture.
Parent Stay and Play Days - We organise stay and play days for you to come and join your child in a session and play with them. This is a great opportunity to get to know the staff and your child's friends and to have a chat with your child's key person.
The Committee - Allsorts is a registered charity and is managed by a committee. The committee meet once a term to discuss important decisions, manage the settings finances, staff and policies and procedures, and to organise fundraising events. New volunteers are always welcome. To join or find out more, please speak to any member of the committee or to a member of staff.
Learning opportunities for our Parents and Carers - Allsorts provides information and access to courses for parents and carers that are running in the local area or online and has excellent links to the Children’s Centre in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Safeguarding
Like all Early Years settings, Allsorts has a duty to help safeguard children against suspected or actual significant harm.
Allsorts Pre-school is part of the Wiltshire Police ENCOMPASS project, where we may be informed when a child has been affected by a domestic violence incident. Information is shared in the strictest confidence to allow us as a setting to make provision to support the child and family affected.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Tracy Stephens, our Manager, and our Deputy Safeguarding Lead is Michelle Dodd, her Deputy. If you are worried about a child or a member of staff, please speak to Tracy or Michelle in confidence. Alternatively, you will find up to date information flowcharts on the noticeboard in the corridor with local contact information.

Policies and Procedures
Allsorts Pre-school is governed by a comprehensive list of policies and procedures. These are reviewed at least annually by the committee and staff, and parents are invited to join the review and add their comments and suggestions for change.
